QA Engineering Support

Adecco Engineering & Technical is looking for a QA Support Engineer for our clients Transmission Line group

Do you have a Quality background with Mechanical//Civil/Structural experience?

Summary
Our Clients Transmission Line Design group (TELC) provides engineering design and technical support for transmission line conductor, fiber optic cable, insulators, conductor hardware and accessories for the main grid and customer service transmission and fiber optic lines. This group develops policies, standards, and provides QA/QC expertise for critical transmission line materials.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provides engineering support for Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC) for components of the transmission system.


Provides assistance to the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) by tracking purchase orders and order progress including maintaining regular communication with the vendor to obtain current order status.


Communicate and coordinate product delivery schedules changes with the COTR project teams, and the vendor. 


Witnesses specification testing and performs vendor inspections at vendor facilities.


Reviews test reports for accuracy and completeness, and compares results to our clients technical specifications and industry standards. 


Prepares written trip reports documenting activities and results of specification testing.


Coordinates resolution of material discrepancies with the COTR and vendor.


Recommends to the COTR acceptance or rejection of vendor material and prepares material release reports.


Overnight Travel will be required.


Position Requirements

Requires a 4 year engineering degree in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering from an ABET accredited university.


Overnight travel up to 50% time depending on workload priorities.


Ability to work collaboratively on project teams.


Must possess outstanding written and verbal technical communication skills. 


Technical writing sample may be requested. 


Ability to problem solve and be detail oriented are required. 


Demonstrated proficiency using computer software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Access is required.

Experience in QA/QC is highly desirable.


Experience with material testing and manufacturing processes is desirable.

Experience with the transmission electric utility industry is desirable, but not required.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovated solutions. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Develops strategy andleads large, cross-division functional teams or projects the affect the organizations longterm goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.

Education:
Typically a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 10 plus years related experience, or Master’s degree, and a minimum of 6 plus years experience. Design of mechanical systems.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, or possess a Green Card.

Relocation is not provided, so candidates should reside a commutable distance from Vancouver, WA.
