Structural Engineer Job Description :

An Aerotek client, a leading engineering firm in the North Shore that specializes in
bridge projects is seeking a junior to mid-level engineer to join their Salisbury office.

Job Duties:
*Engineer will work on various bridge design projects in the Boston area.
*Prepare preliminary and final designs for bridge structures.
*Duties also include performing structural calculations for superstructure and
substructures design, preparing design details, and assisting in preparation of
contract drawings, cost estimates and estimates.

Job Requirements:
*BS in Civil Engineering.
*6+ months of experience in designing bridges for Massachusetts Highway
Department.
*Familiarity with AutoCAD and structural engineering software is also required.
*Familiarity with Finite Element and discrete element analysis would be a plus.
*Ideal candidate needs to have: New Bridge Design Experience
(Concrete/Steel or some timber)
* Experience with existing Bridge rehab design experience
* Experience with Bridge Inspection and Rating experience.
* MA Highway experience is a must!

Lab Technician JH

Description:
An incumbent operates under supervisor/professional review and within standard
operating procedures, utilizing a variety of specialized techniques, prescribed
methods and specialized standards. Test and analysis techniques, methodologies
and results are reviewed by an incumbent's supervisor to ensure the adequacy and
accuracy of data derived. Frequent communication is made with section/department
personnel. Occasional communication for clarification or suggestions concerning
test parameters, material selection, design, etc., with professional and supervisory
level personnel within the requesting department is required.

Requirements:
This job is for a mechanical test technician in the Special Test Section of O31.
The ability to work well with your hands while following direction from multiple
sources (engineers, procedures, supervision, senior co-workers, etc.) is important
for the successful candidate. Good mechanical skills and an excellent work ethic
are a must. The successful candidate will be required to perform under constantly
changing requirements. The priority this morning may be different this afternoon
and the candidate must be able to deal well with changes in requirements.
The successful candidate needs to be proficient with the following:

1. Mechanical skills (water, pneumatic and hydraulic)
2. Ability to work to engineering procedures and drawings
3. Documenting results and accurately reporting them
4. Good people skills
5. Structural welding skills a plus
6. Previous military and plumbing/mechanic jobs are a plus.

Location: Newport News, VA
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $20.00 Hourly DOE
