worldwide. Xyron is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join dynamic Product
Development team.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for carrying well-defined concepts through "Design for Manufacture" up to
the release for tooling.
• Apply sound engineering principles and practices to perform tasks relating to design,
analysis, fabrication, modification and evaluation of products.
• Prepare plans, procedures, schedules & cost estimates for key development projects.
• Review designs and models for performance, manufacturability and quality and will
utilize the best manufacturing methods for plastic injection molded components.
• Generate project documentation.
• Research and analyze data.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer preferably in Product Development
• Proficiency in Pro/ E
• Experience with design of injection molded products
• Ability to communicate with Chinese manufacturers
• Ability to coordinate prototype production (using in-house & outsourced production)
• familiar with design for manufacturability & transition from design to production.
• Strong problem solving skills preferred.
• Ability to document technical information.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Strong organizational, communication and PC skills required.
• This position requires the ability to travel to support product launch

Requirements:
• B. S. in Electrical Engineering or Engineering related discipline. 

• 2-4 years of design engineering experience preferred.
• Facilitate/ participate/ support creation of product Failure Analysis (FA) tools 

• Analyze new failure modes 

• Determine appropriate test methods and equipment specifications for product specific FA.

• Update risk documents as appropriate based on findings from FA tools. 

• Report findings to the organization including R&D, Operations Engineering, Regulatory
Affairs, and others.

• Secondary root cause analysis of failed components (e-Box, motors, PC boards, etc. )

• Periodic component level review or other special investigation, in conjunction with the
Quality Engineer, of specific products or product groups, subsystems, subassemblies, etc.

• Responsible for the creation of “Technical investigation reports” relative to findings
discovered during FA tool. 

• Participate in Risk Analysis and Communication

• Technical Communication/ Interaction with R&D, Mfg, Product Eng, etc. at various forums.

• Training of FA tools to Quality Engineer, Quality Techs, Repair Techs, Field Service Techs, etc.

• Ensure FA tools are being performed properly over time 

• May supervise one or more Co-op/ Quality Control Inspector/ Technician.

• Learn and Develop into technical expert for Product

• Provide last line of technical support by phone to field technicians. 

• In house analysis of returned components, sub assemblies, products. 

• Maintain/ update current trouble shooting tools, develop new trouble shooting tools. 

• Provide training for call center and field technicians and other team members as needed.
